NEEDLES & YARN - PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY

LEADER: Elizabeth deRainville-Stone
TIME: Wednesday’s 10:00am - 12:00pm
LOCATION: Koinonia

Do you enjoy knitting? Are prayer and caring for others important to you? If so, this is a Life Group for women who desire to knit, pray, and create items to show their love and care for those in need of encouragement. Our focus will be on encouraging people within this Koinonia family initially, and possibly community needs as well.

We have pattern books of prayer shawls for the group to peruse. If you have other patterns to share, they are most welcome.

*If you cannot attend, but have unused yarn and/or needles at home, please consider donating them to our group!

REQUIREMENTS: For women age 50+. Bring your own knitting needles and yarn.

DIVINE WEEKLY

LEADERS: Beth Fleming & Team
TIME: Thursday’s 9:15am-11:15am
LOCATION: Impact Centre

Join us for worship, yummy food, conversations, support, new friendships, and an inspiring message. This Fall we will be exploring what it means to be “Together in Christ”. How does Jesus want us to live as believers walking in unity with one another in everyday life? We are looking forward to sharing our lives with one another as we reflect on and discuss the message, while enjoying delicious breakfast snacks around our tables.

REQUIREMENTS: For women. Cost is $15. Limited childcare spaces available – contact the main office to check availability: $15/child age 5 yrs & under (to a max of $35/family). All forms of payment are accepted and can be made either at the Resource Centre or online. Each mom bringing children will be required to serve in childcare for one Thursday.

Registration online is closed, but at-the-door registrations are still accepted.

BE IN HEALTH

LEADERS: Ray & Barb Lee, Don & Cheryl Warkentin
TIME: Thursday’s 7:15pm - 8:45pm
LOCATION: Ray & Barb’s Home (Kitchener)

God is in the restoration business. We will explore how our relationship with God, with others, and even ourselves effect our physical bodies. We will examine how our thoughts, feelings, and emotions either have a positive or negative effect on our body. Your brain is converting those thoughts into a physical reaction that can lead to the development of disease. Join us as we look into God's Word and science to understand this process and help reverse its effects.

REQUIREMENTS: Optional – Purchase the book ‘A More Excellent Way’ by Henry Wright for $23 at the Resource Centre.

EXTREME ADVENTURES 6 - BAFFIN ISLAND EXPEDITION

LEADER: Johannes Snethlage
TIME: Thursday Evenings (Monthly)
LOCATION: Cambridge

This trip is a rare opportunity. Learn what interdependence with our brothers and sisters means, and put it into practice. Learn alpining skills, lightweight backpacking, mountaineering, rock climbing, and river fording. This group will meet once a month for an entire year in preparation, planning, instruction, training, prayer, and Bible reading. The trip will take place in late August 2018 and is approximately 2-3 weeks long. If this really turns your crank and you have always wondered why God made mountains and why He meets His children on mountain tops, come out to the first meeting to find out more!

REQUIREMENTS: Open to anyone age 18+. Limited to 20 participants, and only 8 spots on the trip available. Cost of the trip is approx. $3000 (costs may be reduced depending on use of AirMiles, etc.).

LOVE IN ACTION

LEADER: Oto Perez
TIME AND LOCATION: Bi-weekly around KW area | 9:00am -   12pm Saturdays

This is a project-based group that will function at various locations every second week over the semester. The heart behind this group is to show the love of Christ to others through our actions. If you have a passion for serving and helping others you can sign up for just 1 or all of our outreach plans.

Currently we have an outreach on SATURDAY October 14th at Marillac Place in Kitchener (a home for young Mom’s and their babies) to clean both inside and out the facilities. We need a large team for this outreach.

If you like raking leaves sign up for our Kidzone leaf collection - SATURDAY October 28th, . we will be serving at both KZ locations. (Stay posted for more outreach possibilities.)
