Salvation
Becoming a disciple of Christ begins with receiving Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. You are born again into God’s family when you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead (Rom. 10:9-13). The good news is that this is not the end, but just the beginning of an amazing new life!
Daily Devotions & Journaling
Whether you have been saved for a week or 20 years, reading God’s Word on a daily basis is essential to your growth as a disciple. Journaling on what you read each day is a powerful tool for getting God’s Word deep into your heart. In the bookstore you will find Life Journals for new believers, kids, youth and adults. You can also find daily Life Journal readings online if you click here.
The Getting Started Life Journal
The Getting Started Life Journal is specially designed to help new believers discover the treasure, learn the truths, and experience the promises that God has prepared for them in His Word. It takes you on a 28-day journey through some of the most important parts of the Bible for you to read as a disciple of Christ. The journal provides you with insights from what you read each day and a place to record your own thoughts.
The Getting Started Life Journal is included in the package that new believers receive when they give their lives to Christ. If you would like a Getting Started Life Journal for yourself, a family member or friend, you can also purchase a copy at the Koinonia Bookstore.
Regular Church Attendance
God didn’t create you to do life on your own; He created you to be a part of a natural family and a spiritual family. The Bible calls your spiritual family “the Church” or “the Body of Christ.” Other members of the Body of Christ are now your brothers and sisters!
It is essential for you to find a thriving church with vibrant worship that teaches practical lessons each week from God’s Word. God doesn’t just want you to attend a church service or two each week; He wants you to get involved and connect with others. He wants you to find a place to belong – a home (Psalm 92:13).
Spiritual Trainers
Our team of Spiritual Trainers specialize in helping new believers grow during their first 4 weeks after receiving Christ. If you are a new believer a spiritual trainer is available to meet weekly one on one with you for 20-30 minutes before or after one of our services. During these connection times they will discuss the truths that you are learning from the Getting Started Life Journal and answer questions you may have.

Water Baptism
God’s Word commands us as believers to be baptized in water as a public expression of our faith in Christ (Acts 2:38). If you have not already been baptized, contact the church office today to find out when the next baptism class is scheduled.
Getting Started New Believer’s Class
This class covers the basics of faith in Christ and what it really means to be “born again.” During this Life Group you will also have an opportunity to ask questions and get to know others who are beginning their journey as disciples of Christ. The Getting Started class runs during our Fall and Winter Life Group semesters. Click here to find out when the next class is being offered.
Serving in an Area of Ministry
Just like each part of our natural body was designed and equipped by God to perform a specific function, so are we as members of the Body of Christ. If you believe God has placed you in Koinonia and you have taken Catch the Vision, look for a team you can serve with. Whether it is greeting people as they drive into the parking lot, teaching children God’s Word, or serving on the tech team, you will find there is nothing as rewarding as using the gifts God has placed in you to serve others.
After you have completed Catch the Vision, be sure to fill out the questionnaire in your Catch the Vision book. Hand in your completed questionnaire to the Info Centre or the Main Office so that we can connect you with an area of ministry that you will love to serve in.
Catch the Vision
At Koinonia, we are building a house for people to belong to and we would love for Koinonia to be a place you can call “home.” Catch the Vision will help you discover what our Core Values are and how they impact everything we do. Catch the Vision is also a prerequisite for serving in an area of ministry at Koinonia. Contact the church office to find out when the next Catch the Vision class is being offered.
Rooted and Grounded
The foundation is the most crucial part of anything we build, whether it is a house, a business or our lives. The Rooted and Grounded Life Group is designed to assist you in becoming grounded in the foundation stones of our faith. Rooted & Grounded runs during our Fall & Winter Life Group semesters. Click here to find out when the next class is being offered.
